Qualifications of this Organization (licensure, trademark, etc.):

CenterPoint Education Solutions is a non-profit organization that provides district and state student assessment systems, along with content development services, professional development, and instructional resources for teachers and leaders in diverse schools, districts, and states. With experience at the federal, state, district, and school-level, CenterPoint Education Solutions is uniquely situated to provide states, districts, and schools with comprehensive solutions to support curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
In the last seven years, our organization has individually trained thousands of educators across the country on instructional content and pedagogical best practices in English language arts/literacy, mathematics, and literacy in the disciplines. Through our curriculum services, our experts partner with administrators and educators to design and develop a quality curriculum but will also ensure this curriculum works well with the policies, procedures and resources (both in terms of staffing and instructional materials) in place to ensure that what students are taught aligns with the written and assessed curriculum.
As one of the few organizations that have worked on large-scale and district-based assessments, CenterPoint can support states, districts, and schools with custom and pre-designed diagnostic and interim assessment solutions delivered on own our platform, or through one of our partners platforms.

Qualifications of Instructors/ Staff that Provide Services:

CenterPointís team includes both current and former teachers, building leaders, district leaders, and state department of education staff with many years of experience in the field of education, and demonstrated success in differentiating and facilitating professional learning around assessment literacy, college and career ready standards implementation, and instructional leadership. Members of the CenterPoint team have led national initiatives to train teachers, leaders, and state and district officials on the Common Core standards and to develop and deliver in-person and online professional learning. In addition to key personnel named in this proposal, the team is supported by a diverse group of CenterPoint staff and consultants with backgrounds in the areas of research, technology, assessment, product development and program management.
CenterPoint staff bring a seven-year, unwavering commitment to quality and execution in our experience helping the PARCC consortium through our subsidiary, Parcc Inc. Our staff were key in the development and implementation of a KĖ12 assessment system that builds a pathway to college and career readiness by the end of high school, provides educators with timely information, provides comparable results across member states, measures the full range of the college- and career-ready standards, and uses state-of-the-art technology to improve overall quality and efficiency for users. Many of the staff members have been involved in the work surrounding standards, assessment, and college- and career-ready policy for 15 or more years; are nationally known for their work, expertise, and leadership in this field; and worked on several state assessments, including the PARCC assessment, FCAT, MCAS, MSPAP, MFRT, CTBS 5, Maryland Writing Test.

Explanation of how we are able to provide differentiated services to meet the individual needs of schools and districts.

CenterPoint staff have worked hand-in-hand with educators from 16 states, impacting over 140,000 educators and 1.6 million students to dramatically increase the rates at which students graduate from high school prepared for the opportunities ahead. Using the deep experience of our staff in building instructional tools and assessments aligned to college- and career-ready standards, CenterPoint staff provides proven solutions and customized services to support educators, so they can support student success.
Customized work with our district and school partners allows us to determine the best means for differentiated learning for participants to meet systemic needs through our professional development services. For example, to support the needs of schools with high populations of English Language Learners and Spanish speakers who use a bilingual model, we have delivered programs in Spanish and we have trans-adapted session materials to account for the unique linguistic differences of the Spanish language. Similarly, since all teachers need to understand how to meet the needs of students with identified special needs, strategies introduced by CenterPoint always include research-based ideas for how to ensure accessibility to content for students with a variety of needs. For example, in a recent session designed to increase the understanding of STEM educators on how to incorporate mathematical modeling in lessons, educators were provided with examples of effective embedded supports that could be used to scaffold learning for students with dyscalculia, so these students had access to and were expected to meet the same rigorous learning opportunities as those without this disability. Likewise, strategies and educator resources for increasing student achievement for highly able students are also introduced, since differentiating instruction for students across the performance continuum while maintain access to the expectations for all is a key component of CenterPointís education solutions. Our goal is to help school leaders engage all learners across the continuum, as engaged learners are less likely to require disciplinary intervention.

How will we evaluate our services and support to schools and districts and its effectiveness in school/ district/ student achievement?

The services provided by CenterPoint will be assessed through a variety of measures to ensure the delivery of quality products and services. We collect quantitative data on student assessment performance as well as qualitative data from observations and participant surveys to assess the impact of our work. In conjunction with district and school staff, the team will develop best-practices aligned survey instruments to gauge the satisfaction of participating educators and will schedule regular check-in meetings to hear from administrators about their satisfaction with our work.
The most important impact of educator learning is to bring about positive changes in teacher behaviors in the classroom and see improvements in student achievement. To gauge whether our sessions and resources have an impact in schools and classrooms, we create custom tools and processes that allow district and school leaders to look for evidence of practices in action. We will guide district staff to use these tools effectively in their schools, and support district staff to respond to the observation data they collect. Our team will provide expert analysis of both formative data (interim assessment data, school-based assessment data) as well as summative data to identify trends in student performance that are indicative of the effectiveness of our work.
