Leader in Me is a K-12 whole-school improvement model being implemented by thousands of
schools in over 50 countries worldwide. It serves as the foundational operating system for a
school by creating an environment where existing programs and initiatives can thrive. Leader in
Me was created by Educators, for Educators.
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (K-6)
Educating the Whole Child
Establish a whole-child mindset with a belief that every child has genius and everyone can be a
leader.
MIDDLE SCHOOL (6-9)
Addressing Social-Emotional Needs
Create an environment of social-emotional learning that helps every student build confidence
and discover their true potential.
HIGH SCHOOL (9-12)
College, Career, and Life Readiness
Create a culture led by students who are encouraged to find their voice and develop critical
skills that will help them successfully navigate college, career, and life.

Framework
The Leader in Me model influences leadership, culture, and academics by using the See-Do-
Get Cycle.
By seeing things differently (Core Paradigms) and focusing on highly effective practices,
outlined below in our Framework, our schools get measurable results in Leadership, Culture,
and Academics. It is through this Framework that our process will provide the operating system
to help PCPS accomplish their mission of developing “21 st century citizens able to effectively
collaborate communicate and innovate”. (Find their mission statement and personalize!)
Our Core workshops are held the first three years for sustaining professional development in
Leader in Me. The content for the Core trainings combines elements of all three columns in the

Explanation of how we are able to provide differentiated services to meet the individual needs of schools and districts.

All serves are based on UIP goals, services, needs, community, and local/state data. Here's an example of choices of journeys that schools and districts can engage in: WHAT ARE IMPACT JOURNEYS?
In year four and beyond, achieve school wide excellence in an area of need and earn Leader in Me distinctions. Impact Journeys consist of workshops, materials, and coaching bundled to help you achieve specific, measureable results addressing key challenges beyond the Leader in Me Core Training.

EQUITY AND UNCONSCIOUS BIAS
1 day all staff workshop with materials + selected coaching bundle
Unconscious biases are how our brains compensate for overload, but they can inhibit connections and lead to poor outcomes. Help your staff to identify and reduce bias and create an equitable environment where all students, educators, and families can thrive.

How will we evaluate our services and support to schools and districts and its effectiveness in school/ district/ student achievement?

Leader in Me schools seek improvements in three areas – leadership, culture, and academics – and have access to the Measurable Results Assessment (MRA) to help them measure performance in these areas.

The MRA is a rigorously developed tool used to annually collect, analyze, and report student-, staff-, and school-level outcomes related to the focus on improving leadership, culture, and academics. It can be used to help a school identify its strengths and weaknesses, develop improvement plans, and monitor progress. The MRA measures are aligned with the highly effective practices outlined in the Leader in Me Framework. This alignment empowers schools to move from data insights to action plans and best leverage their limited time and resources to meet their goals.

Many Leader in Me schools also measure success by working toward FranklinCovey’s Lighthouse Certification, which is a highly-regarded standard set by FranklinCovey that is attainable by every Leader in Me school. As it is a significant benchmark, applying for this certification typically occurs four to five years after a school begins the Leader in Me process (see the Question: “What is a Leader in Me Lighthouse School?” for more about becoming a Lighthouse School).

Leader in Me is having a significant, measurable impact on schools all over the world and in the lives of millions of students, parents, teachers, and administrators, as is evidenced by the findings resulting from studies conducted by leading academic institutions and third-party research organizations.
