Amber Whetstine is an experienced Colorado educator and leader who has supported rural, urban and suburban school leaders with school improvement initiatives resulting increased student achievement. Amber has worked with a variety of schools and programs including traditional neighborhood schools, charter schools, innovation schools, alternative education campuses, and blended-online programs to support teachers and leaders in the continuous improvement process.

Effectiveness is evaluated through demonstrated outcomes determined by each client with School System Solutions, observable improvement in student achievement / accreditation ratings, improvement plan development and fulfillment, and client satisfaction survey results.

A comprehensive diagnostic review process synthesizes school strengths and opportunities for improvement. Prior to a two-day onsite review, a thorough review of school documents such as the unified improvement plan, professional development plans / agendas, achievement data, curriculum maps, and lesson plans are reviewed by a team of qualified and experienced educators. The site visit includes classroom observations and a variety of stakeholder interviews in which the site visit team collects standards-aligned evidence to verify strengths and opportunities to guide the school’s improvement planning efforts. A variety of evidence from all sources (documents, interviews and observations) are calibrated by the team to ensure consistency of findings for each identified strength and opportunity.

Unified Improvement Planning
School System Solutions facilitates the unified improvement planning process with school leaders to ensure a comprehensive analysis of school strengths and opportunities. The process generally involves a 1-2 day on site facilitation with stakeholders, followed by consultation and follow-up review of the plan with school leaders.
