Accountability & Improvement

Optional Fall Unified Improvement Plan Submissions due Monday, Oct.15

The window for submitting unified improvement plans (UIPs) ends Monday, Oct. 15. This submission window is optional and open for any revised 2012-13 district or school level UIPs ready for public posting on SchoolView. UIPs submitted through the Tracker system during the fall cycle will replace plans currently posted on SchoolView in November.

District-level priority improvement and turnaround plans may also be submitted by Monday, Oct. 15 for optional fall review. Districts that submit the district-level plans for review will receive feedback to strengthen the data narrative before making decisions about action planning. This submission option will only be seen by priority improvement and turnaround districts and will not take the place of the required winter review.

Resources for submitting UIPs are available at the link provided below and have been provided to district Tracker contacts.

UIP Scaffolded Peer Review Sessions Begin Next Week

CDE will host the first round of peer review sessions for district or school teams as they revise their UIPs beginning Monday, Oct. 15. This first round of peer reviews focuses on reviewing the data narrative, including notable trend statements, and prioritizing performance challenges and root cause analysis. Participants should bring their school and/or district plans and be ready to review plans from other districts. CDE staff will be available for consultation.

There is still space available for the sessions in Pueblo on Oct. 15, Glenwood Springs on Oct. 17 and North Metro Denver on Oct. 19. Register at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/2012UIPScaffoldedReview.

Registration is also open for the action planning training sessions in Pueblo on Oct. 30 and in Loveland on Nov. 2. These sessions build on data analysis and root cause identification. Participants will identify or update their annual performance targets, identify associated interim measures for each priority performance challenge, and work through a process for identifying or updating major improvement strategies and associated action steps to address the root causes of priority performance challenges. To register, visit: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/2012UIPProcess.
