Accountability & Improvement

Register for a Unified Improvement Planning Progress Monitoring Sessions - Grand Junction Location Added for Dec. 3

Provided in partnership with the Center for Transforming Learning and Teaching, the progress monitoring session focuses on implementing a continuous improvement cycle across the school year that brings the UIP alive. Participants work with and plan for interpreting data from the most common interim assessments and early literacy assessments used in Colorado. They will build a plan for using interim assessment data throughout the school year to determine if action steps are having the desired effects on student learning. Participants will identify how to use data from implementation benchmarks to evaluate the degree to which major improvement strategies are being implemented, and make adjustments as needed. This session will also address how to engage various stakeholders, including school accountability committee members, in progress monitoring. Participants will leave with processes, protocols and tools for engaging with local planning teams to monitor the progress of school and district improvement efforts.

The UIP progress monitoring sessions will be held from 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. in Pueblo on Thursday, Nov. 21 and in Grand Junction on Tuesday, Dec. 3. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Learn About the Release of the State Model Evaluation Online Performance Management System

CDE is working in partnership with RANDA Solutions, Inc. to create an online performance management system to support districts and BOCES in the implementation of the Colorado state model evaluation system. RANDA will power the state model online performance management system and is entirely optional for districts. Each district has the autonomy to select a vendor or design a performance management system locally that best meets their needs. Beta testing for the state model online performance management system will begin in spring of 2014 and the system will be available for optional district use beginning in the 2014-15 school year. Standards & Assessments

Submit Your TCAP Early Test Window Request by Friday, Dec. 6

This is a reminder that the TCAP early test window request survey closes Friday, Dec. 6. Districts with special scheduling needs wishing to administer 2014 TCAP tests earlier than the regular testing windows must submit a request before this deadline.

To access the TCAP early test window survey:
• Visit www.ctb.com/tcap.
• Login to Navigator with your TCAP user ID and password.
• On the my programs page under forms & registrations, click on the TCAP early test window request survey link to fill out your request and select done.

CDE is encouraging districts to complete TCAP by the end of March, so that TCAP does not interfere with CMAS science and social studies. Districts may want to consider using the early testing window.
