Submit Comparability Data

The Comparability online system is open. Districts that receive Title IA funds and have at least one Title I school with more than 100 students, in a grade span with two or more schools, will need to submit comparability data.

The online system is available at https://edx.cde.state.co.us/comp. There can be only one respondent per district, who must be authorized by the superintendent. If your district's respondent has changed since last year, you will need to have your superintendent authorize a new one.

Participate in a Poster Contest to Bring Missing Children Home

Each year hundreds of thousands of children are reported missing. Law enforcement, citizens, and even children have been instrumental in keeping children safe and returning them home to their families, community and school.

Every year the United States Department of Justice takes time to commemorate the valiant and unselfish acts of the many organizations and individuals who bring our missing children home. For 2014, May 25 has been designated as National Missing Children’s Day.

Each year DOJ sponsors a national poster contest and announces the winner at the annual National Missing Children’s Day Ceremony in Washington, DC. The winner of this national contest, along with his or her teacher and parents, are brought to Washington, DC to attend this special ceremony. You are invited to join us in our efforts to educate children across the country about safety issues by giving your 5th grade students an opportunity to participate in this poster contest and disseminating this information within your school district. The theme for the poster contest is “Bring Our Missing Children Home”.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is the state contest manager for Colorado. All posters should be at the CBI for judging by 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 31. For more information, visit the link below.

Read About Updates to the Colorado Measures of Academic Success Online Assessment

Elementary and middle school science and social studies assessments will be delivered online beginning in the spring. Device information provided by districts to the technology readiness tool paired with district success in spring and fall field testing suggests that most districts are on track to deliver the assessments online. Use of the paper-based assessment is currently reserved for a very small group of students (ex. students with neurological disabilities and English learners providing responses in languages other than Spanish or English) who need an accommodated paper form to access the assessments.

CDE and Pearson conducted site visits to all districts that indicated interest. Site visits help districts ensure that their assessment environments are ready for testing. Districts that are concerned about their technology readiness should have their district technology coordinator contact Collin Bonner at 303-866-6752 or bonner_c@cde.state.co.us.
