Accountability & Improvement

Register for a UIP Training and Learn When Your Feedback Will Be Released

CDE is reviewing more than 250 school and district UIPs. District reviews have been prioritized and CDE will release district-level feedback within the next couple of weeks. School-level feedback will be released on a rolling basis as it becomes available. Once feedback becomes available to each district, superintendents and district accountability contacts will receive an email containing instructions on how to obtain feedback as well as directions for the next steps in the improvement planning process, including the re-submission of plans with required changes.

CDE is offering sessions this spring to support districts working through the continuous improvement planning cycle. These sessions address how local planning teams are monitoring progress during the current school year. Participants should bring CDE feedback so it can be used and incorporated in the plan revision process for the subsequent year.

Sessions are offered in three locations: Pueblo on April 1, Glenwood Springs on April 3, and Denver North Metro on April 5. To register, visit:

Two Weeks Left: Participate in the TELL Colorado Survey

Two weeks in and with two weeks to go, the state already have a response rate of more than 25 percent. Real time response rates for all districts and schools can be viewed on the TELL website at the link below.

So far 220 schools and 12 districts (Mesa County 51, Ignacio, Lake County, Keenesburg, Montezume-Cortez, Kiowa, Meeker, Otis, Peyton, Ellicott, Genoa-Hugo, and Del Norte) have surpassed the 50 percent participation threshold. This means that they will be able to access their own data for improvement planning purposes. Several large districts including Mesa County 51, Douglas County, Jefferson County and Cherry Creek have more than ,1000 surveys completed.

There are still 600 schools that have not participated and we want to hear from them, too. If code packets have not yet arrived at your schools, or you have questions or concerns, please contact the help desk at or 1-855-258-2818. New codes can be used right away. The survey is open through March 6.

Awards & Recognitions

Submit Your Recommendations for the Educator Talent Pool

CDE invites you to recommend emerging classroom leaders who are considered distinguished teachers and principals. This collection of outstanding educators is used as a reference for advisory boards, publicity, committee development, awards, and other recognition opportunities. Your recommendations will identify educators who will be of great value to your community and state.

We are seeking representation from secondary educators relatively new to the profession (5-18 years). Candidates are typically classroom teachers as opposed to specialists and are recognized by peers and supervisors as unique in their growth. Occasionally a principal or specialist is considered. Previous recognition is not required.

Recommendations must be submitted by Friday, April 19. This process is confidential and individuals should not be aware of their recommendation. For more information and to access the talent pool recommendation form, visit the link below.
