2012 School Health Profiles

Beginning in February 2012, the Colorado Department of Education and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment will support the biennial administration of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention School Health Profiles.

The Profiles are distributed every other year to approximately 350 randomly selected secondary schools in Colorado to assess health-related policies and practices. In 2012, OMNI Institute will serve as the contracted administrator for the Profiles. Each selected school is asked to complete two paper-based surveys; one from the principal and one from a health teacher. The initial distribution of the Profiles will be mailed to selected schools in February with a due date in March.

The Profiles have been approved by the Educational Data Advisory Committee and the data will be used for state reporting and national comparison. The Profiles provide important information that supports school health funding and resources in Colorado. To access information from the 2010 School Health Profiles results, visit the link below.
