Early Learning & School Readiness

Apply for School Readiness Assessment Funds

CDE is accepting new and renewal applications for funds to purchase Teaching Strategies GOLD subscriptions for the 2014-2015 school year. The application will allow districts to request funds to cover 100 percent of subscription costs for kindergarten students for the 2014-2015 school year. The negotiated price for the subscriptions are $8.95 per child.

Because districts will contract directly with Teaching Strategies for the kindergarten subscriptions, CDE recommends that districts consult local procurement rules and processes. Keep in mind that many districts already have contracts in place with Teaching Strategies.

A link to the request for proposal and webinar recording can be found at the link below.

Submit Your Nominations for the Colorado Talent Pool

The Colorado Department of Education maintains a file of emerging classroom leaders that consists of a cadre of distinguished teachers and principals. These educators may be considered for membership on advisory boards and task forces, as well as candidates for special recognition programs. Your recommendations will identify educators who will be of great value to your community and state and who may also ultimately receive prestigious recognition.

In particular, CDE is looking for representation from educators relatively new to the profession who demonstrate unusual instructional and leadership ability, predominantly at the elementary level. Such persons exhibit strong potential for professional leadership and inspiring presence that impacts students, colleagues and community.

Nominations for 2014 additions to the talent pool are due by Friday, April 18.
