Attend a Data Pipeline Town Hall Webinar with CDE’s Chief Information Officer, Dan Domagala

Data Pipeline replaces the Automated Data Exchange system that is used for state reporting and takes CDE from 19 point-in-time collections to six transactional interchanges, allowing local education agencies to submit data regularly to CDE and fix data errors the data as they go. The Data Pipeline solution will help streamline data collection and reduce manual burdens on our school districts.

Access Information on Evaluator Training Providers for Unique Evaluation Systems

To support districts to distribute leadership, mange workload and ensure high quality feedback to educators, the law allows principal designees to conduct evaluations as long as they've attended a CDE approved training program. As such, we are releasing a request for proposal to approve evaluator training providers for systems other than the Colorado State Model Evaluation System. This initial request for proposal is only for districts or training providers that will not be training evaluators on the Colorado State Model Evaluation System, but that will be training on other, unique district evaluation systems. To apply to be an approved evaluator training provider on a unique system, you must submit a request for proposal application to CDE by June 10 at 4 p.m.

Provide Feedback to Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers on Performance Level Descriptors

The new draft grade- and subject-specific PLDs articulate the knowledge, skills, and practices that students performing at a given level should be able to demonstrate in each content area at each grade level and to be on-track for college and career readiness.

PARCC is seeking feedback on the grade- and subject-specific PLDs from a variety of stakeholders and interested parties including parents, classroom teachers, district administrators and higher education faculty. As with every public release, all feedback submitted via the online survey will be considered when reviewing and revising the PLDs in preparation for final adoption in June. The feedback will continue to ensure that the development of the assessment system truly reflects the common core state standards and the needs of educators in the PARCC states.

To view the PLDs, visit http://www.parcconline.org/plds. The window for public comment closes May 8.

Comment on the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers Draft Full Accommodations Manual

PARCC released for public comment a draft of the full accommodations manual for the assessments currently being developed by the 22-state consortium.

The draft PARCC Accommodations Manual is a comprehensive policy document that will support local educators in the selection, administration and evaluation of accommodations for the assessment of students with disabilities and English learners on the PARCC end-of-year, performance-based and mid-year assessment components. The release of the manual is an important step in meeting PARCC’s commitment to accessibility for all students, especially students with disabilities and English learners.

The public review period allows for feedback from a wide group of stakeholders, including K-12 educators, parents, curriculum and assessment experts and interest groups. The manual and a feedback survey will be posted on the PARCC website (at the link below) through May 13 for the public to provide feedback, along with a set of frequently asked questions.
