Data Systems

Learn More About inBloom

This month the Colorado State Board of Education held a study session to learn more about inBloom, a data infrastructure that works to make personalized learning a reality for every student. This system has the potential to overcome some of the most stubborn obstacles in education by providing schools and teachers with technology that makes it less cumbersome and time-consuming to provide individualized instruction for every child.

Jeffco is among six districts nationwide piloting inBloom services to achieve this goal. Their work is focused on providing a data store, common data standards, and a shared platform that will improve the effectiveness, variety and affordability of technology-based applications that link student needs and available resources to meet those needs.

To learn more, view the fact sheet at the link below or visit: https://inbloom.org/.

Apply for School Readiness Assessment Funds by Friday, May 31

Apply by Friday, May 31 for funds to purchase kindergarten Teaching Strategies GOLD subscriptions for the 2013-14 school year. The funds cover 100 percent of subscription costs for kindergarten students. To access the application, visit http://bit.ly/118LN6B.

Applications for the 2014-15 school year will be released in early 2014. Because districts will contract directly with Teaching Strategies for the kindergarten subscriptions, CDE recommends that districts consult local procurement rules and processes. Keep in mind that many districts already have contracts in place with Teaching Strategies.

Districts interested in piloting Teaching Strategies GOLD with a small number of students are also encouraged to apply.
