Read Important Updates Regarding the Healthy Kids Colorado Survey

The Healthy Kids Colorado Survey collects anonymous information biennially from students in grades sixth through 12th about health-related attitudes and behaviors.

Starting this year, a new unified system establishes a single, coordinated way of administering the survey to meet the needs of multiple agencies interested in the student health data. This will minimize the survey burden on schools while producing scientifically rigorous and useful student health information. The three agencies involved in the system are CDE, Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and Colorado Department of Human Services-Office of Behavioral Health.

This collaboration will allow us to have both state and regional level data (for the 21 health statistics regions) for middle and high schools. Aggregated data by health statistics region will be available by July 2014.

The selected contractor, University of Colorado Denver, has sent recruitment letters to superintendents and principals and phoned schools. The survey will be administered August through December 2013.
