District Program Improvement Status:

NCLB requires every district that receives funds under Title I to make AYP targets annually. A district is identified for Title I Program Improvement if it does not make AYP in the same content area (reading or math) for two consecutive years.

Highly Qualified Teachers Data:

NCLB requires that all teachers teaching in core-academic content areas meet the requirements for being designated as “Highly Qualified,” no later than the end of the 2006-07 school year. Core-academic content areas are defined as: English, Reading, Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Foreign Languages, Social Studies, the Arts (visual art music and drama).
